 Lago Vista United Methodist Church

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, and are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

We have been privileged to explore the feasibility of starting a new United Methodist church in the Lago Vista community. Through the efforts of many dedicated folks, prayers have been lifted, hymns sung and friendships forged. There has been much good ministry experienced and shared. We have also learned in this period of discernment that this is not the time for planting a new United Methodist congregation.

So with both appreciation for what has been, and sadness for what might have been, we will wait for God to reveal „right timing‟ for such a venture to recommence. The final Sunday for Lago Vista Methodist Church was June 21, 2009. Rev. Richard Selke will be reappointed to a different ministry setting. If you donated items for Lago Vista that you would like to retrieve, please contact the church office during the next two weeks. All other assets will be used for the purposes to which they were given: “to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

Again, we extend our gratitude to all who participated in this effort and thank you for your faithfulness. We trust God is working for good in this and every situation, and we pray God‟s blessing in your life.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kim Cape
